Avi-on Labs and Bridgelux Inc. today announced a technology partnership to introduce a new standard in CSR Bluetooth based smart lighting products for the commercial market.
"We are proud to partner with the Bridgelux. We love the light quality and controllability of their engines," said Eric Miller, CEO of Avi-on. "Bridgelux's smart lighting products complement the Powered by Avi-on platform, and together make commercial smart lighting easy and inexpensive to deploy, use, and maintain, while scalable and secure."
This is among the first of Bridgelux's smart lighting offerings on its recently announced Xenio™ platform, a family of smart, networkable LED arrays for the commercial, retail and industrial spaces. As a true open platform, the product is compatible with a broad variety of standards, protocols and other technologies to ensure ease of integration, greater value and future functionality.
Products will be available in three array sizes and feature tightly integrated controls, local intelligence and communication capabilities, smooth dimming, superior lighting quality and high efficacy available at 120 lumens per watt.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Avi-on," said David Connors, VP of Marketing and Embedded Systems of Bridgelux. "As partners, we are creating an intelligent, networked light engine that provides ease of integration, performance, light quality and value that fits the needs of luminaire manufacturers and their end customers. We know that our customers seek simplicity and choice in control specifications, and Avi-on's Bluetooth Smart™ mesh platform brings a great technology to lighting controls."
The Powered by Avi-on™ platform offers a universal, turnkey app-cloud-module software solution that enables manufacturers to bring entire lines of products to market in less than six months. The platform includes plug and play firmware, iOS and Android mobile applications, a scalable and complete cloud service and a pre-certified radio module based on CSRmesh™. Powered by Avi-on offers secure network creation, real-time dimming, grouping, one-touch setup, schedules, multi-user support and cloud services.
Samples of Bridgelux's smart lighting product will be available in August 2015, with mass production beginning in January 2016.
