Midwestern Utility Concludes Pilot of GridSense LineIQ Monitoring Solution for Older Distribution Substations

GridSense, an Acorn Energy Company, announced that a large Midwestern utility recently concluded a year-long pilot of the LineIQ® monitoring solution for older distribution substations. During the pilot, LineIQ not only demonstrated its efficacy at providing load profile and other information to help the utility gauge substation health, but also its ability to do so at a fraction of the usual metering cost.

NASA Scientists Create Damage Map Using Radar Imagery

A new, space-based map generated by scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., in collaboration with the Italian Space Agency to assist in disaster response efforts shows the regions in the Philippines hit hardest by Super Typhoon Haiyan. The typhoon tore a wide swath of devastation across the island nation on Nov. 8, 2013.
