It contains an in-built sound sensor; a 7’ touch screen display, connectivity to cell phones and an emergency button.

When Sonamba is placed inside the home of a senior, it helps them to be in touch with their family or caregivers by sending them text messages. Periodic wellbeing message alerts about the daily activities in the senior’s home are also conveyed to the caregiver. Sonamba also features medication alerts, emergency response options, photos, games and calendar reminders other than the texting options thus helping the senior to lead an independent life, while at the same time being connected to their family.

Ajit Pendse, pomdevices’ CEO, reveals that Sonamba could be of great benefit to the 11 million seniors who live alone, out of the total 40 million seniors, aged 65 or above in America. It would help them to live in the well-known environment of their houses, while still facilitating close contact with loved ones on a daily basis and in case of emergencies it provides numerous innovative features, such as a wellbeing monitor with touchscreen, where internet or WiFi is not needed; an on screen keyboard interface allowing social communication; digital photo frame that gets and displays photos remotely; personal emergency response system; the regular automated messages sent by the sensors; iPhone with portal for caregiver to get access to Sonamba placed at the senior’s home and games. This product will be on display at booth 1016 in AARP, Orlanda@50+ event, Patti Noonan, who took part in Sonamba’s testing program, declared that Sonamba liberated her from worrisome thoughts about her 80 year old mother, who lived separately. A full-time job and the responsibility of two teens left her with little or no time at all. But Sonamba and its periodic messages, and also the text messages her mother sends reach her cell phone directly and give rise to great peace of mind. She also revealed that her mother took immense pleasure in operating the touchscreen and live her life the way she wants.
