Alfardan Properties - Qatar's leading luxury real estate developer opened another iconic tower in Marina District, Lusail City, which also houses the world's largest sales showroom for the Jaguar Land Rover car brand.

Alfardan Premier Motors, the exclusive importer of Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in Qatar offers its clientele a modern and well-equipped multi-level showroom on 7,800 square metres, designed on the basis of creation, innovation, technology and design. Any shopping experience will be topped here.

A variety of Range Rover, Land Rover and Jaguar vehicles, as well as some classic cars, are on exhibition in the new showroom in the Burj Alfardan.

More than 1000 parking spaces are offered on 7 parking levels, which are used on the one hand by Jaguar Land Rover e.g. for exhibition cars or are available for other public visitors. For safe CO gas monitoring on the parking levels of the Burj Alfardan tower, nearly 140 digital gas sensors (type SC2) from MSR-Electronic will be installed to measure the dangerous toxic carbon monoxide gas. It is a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas and therefore often remains undetected. At high concentrations it can be lethal.

The gas sensors are used for continuous monitoring of the ambient air. In addition to the electrochemical sensor element and the measuring amplifier, the sensor contains a μController for processing the measured values. All relevant data and measured values of the sensor element are stored in the μController in a fail-safe way and are transmitted digitally via the local bus to the Sensor Board (e.g. SB2 or MSB2 from MSR-Electronic). The calibration management is also integrated in the μController of the sensor. Calibration can be carried out by simply exchanging the sensor or by using the integrated, convenient calibration routine directly on the system.

The evaluation of the measured values of the gas sensors is carried out via the DGC-06 controller from MSR. It is used for monitoring and warning of toxic and combustible gases and vapours in gas measurement technology. The large number of freely configurable parameters and setpoints allows individual adaptation to many applications. Therefore, the controller fulfils, for example, the functions for carbon monoxide (CO) monitoring in garages in accordance with the current
EN 50545-1.

The Digtal-Gas-Controller DGC-06 has been developed for large systems or even for extensive connections. Everything is possible, from complex multi-storey car parks to access permissions that are switched by gas alarm.

The DGC-06 gas controller series can monitor and evaluate up to 128 gas sensors, including 96 digital and/or 32 analog sensors (4–20 mA). 4 freely adjustable alarm thresholds are available per sensor. For alarm messages, the controller system has up to 128 relays with potential-free changeover contact and up to 16 analog outputs with 4–20 mA signal.

In the case of the Burj Alfardan tower, the CO gas warning system controls the jet fans, the main fresh air fan and the main smoke extraction fans. After a CO level of 30 ppm is reached, all jet fans on the affected floors run at low speed only. When the fire alarm is triggered, all fans then run at high speed. The system has been connected to the building management system via Modbus RTU and all graphic details and information are displayed in the SCADA.

The entire support and installation of the MSR gas alarm system in the Burj Alfardan in Doha was carried out by the MSR partner SYSTEMAIR MIDDLE EAST QATAR LLC. The gas alarm system is compliant with EN 50545-1.
