Gas Detection: New Products in the Field of Power Supply and Jet Water Protection

To ensure even more safety and efficiency in power supply and jet protection in the future, MSR-Electronic has developed the AP2-UPS battery pack for uninterrupted power supply and the Water-Jet-Protection WJP jet protection housing for maximum protection.

Water-Jet-Protection WJP

The radiation water protection housing Water-Jet-Protection WJP is suitable for the installation of PolyGard® products in housing type C and serves to improve the IP protection of the products. Depending on the mounting, IP protection up to IP69K is achievable.

To ensure reliable gas detection and optimum flow, the WJP housing has several openings on the side. The black cable glands prevent water from entering and leaving the openings. Several punched holes are available for the cable outlet, a gray cable gland is included with the product for this purpose. In addition, the housing has a transparent cover for detecting the visual warning by the WAO. In doing so, it serves in particular to improve the splash protection of products from the PolyGard® product series in housing type C. Due to its transparent, hinged lid, the housing is particularly convenient to operate.

In addition, the jet water protection housing can be individually adapted to any application. Since the housing also fulfills at least the IP protection class IP66, depending on the mounting even up to IP69K, it stands for complete contact protection and dust tightness. Thus, the housing protects against strong jets of water and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Akku-Package AP2-UPS

The battery package enables a battery-supported, uninterruptible power supply in a separate housing. The AP2-UPS uninterruptible power supply is used to ensure the power supply for up to 2 MSC2 multi-sensor controllers or 2 WSB2 warning and sensor boards in the event of disturbances in the power supply system, such as short-term power failures and power fluctuations in the form of overvoltage or undervoltage.

The devices of the PolyGard® product series are used for this purpose in conjunction with the UPS for monitoring and warning of toxic, explosive gases and vapors as well as Freon refrigerants in a wide range of gas measurement technology. The large number of freely configurable parameters and setpoints allows individual adaptation to many applications.

The UPS ensures that the power supply to the system is guaranteed in the event of overvoltages, undervoltages or power failures. The battery pack can be used for all small devices and controllers of the PolyGard® product series and even in smaller garages with small controllers it helps to meet the central standard of gas monitoring for garages and tunnels, EN 50545.
