Enhanced Version of Delta-T ThetaProbe Soil Moisture and Temperature Devices

The new ML3 Soil Moisture and Temperature sensor represents the latest step in the evolution of Delta-T Devices ThetaProbe series - offering extra features, improved performance and a new look, without any price increase over its predecessor.

With its 1% accuracy the research-grade ThetaProbe continues to set the standard for soil moisture measurement - whilst the addition of a thermistor sensor now enables simultaneous logging of soil temperature with soil moisture. Other improvements to the ML3 include a new extendable cabling system, making it simple to extend or replace cables, and with a choice of 1m, 5m, 10m and 25m extensions, flexible configurations are now easy to achieve. ML3 cables and connectors are buriable (environmentally protected to IP68).

The ML3’s salinity response has been improved - its output has been characterised at EC values up to 2000 mSm-1. The temperature range has also been improved with tests demonstrating that the ML3 can operate at temperatures as low as -40 degrees C. The ML3 also features a new white body to reduce radiative heating.

The ML3 ThetaProbe can be logged by any Delta-T data logger, including the powerful new GP2 Data Logger and Controller. Any logger that can provide 5 - 15V DC excitation power and will accept the 0 - 1V output signal is also compatible.

For portable applications the ML3 connects to the HH2 handheld Meter and they can be ordered together as the convenient ThetaKit.
