Advantech Introduces Two New DSP-Based Motion Control Cards

With the need for more accurate and faster production and subsequent market demands Advantech has launched two new motion control cards that emphasize high speed, high precision and multi-axis synchronization.

The PCI-1285 and PCI-1285E are DSP-based SoftMotion PCI bus controller boards which designed for a wide range of applications in the electrical machine automation and traditional machine automation fields. Both boards are equipped with SoftMotion algorithms inside the DSP to performthe motion trajectory and timing control to meet the synchronization in precise movement.

Through the use of a common motion API and universal programming library support, the easy integration with any Advantech motion controller is easily achieved without the need to spend a lot of time, energy or money on upgrades.

Multiple axis synchronization on both one card and across multiple cards allows for the synchronization of devices across complicated motion patterns, therefore making it more precise than ever before.

To ensure even greater accuracy the PCI-1285/1285E have been designed with high speed compare and triggering to quickly carry out high-speed on-the-fly vision inspection. This is done by having compare speeds of up to 100 KHz and having a memory buffer of up to 100,000 points.
