An Overview of Sensors & Instrumentation 2014 NEC, Birmingham

AZoSensors took a trip to Birmingham on Tuesday 30th September to check out all of the latest news pouring from the Sensors & Instrumentation conference, 2014. We weren't disappointed as a host of innovators made a number of announcements regarding new and exciting developments in the sensors world. Here is a brief overview of what we found particularly interesting at the show:

BluBug showcased their exciting new MyBluBug cloud server which can be used to remotely monitor and control any number of sensors within a large network. This innovative device allows users to directly access their sensors' data via a WiFi™ or Ethernet connection wherever they are and at any time.

Customers can browse and analyze data, and even change sensor settings online on the secure cloud server, while offline the cloud can send customers alerts to let the user know that everything is still running smoothly.

GE Measurements & Control Solutions displayed the UNIK 5000 Pressure Sensor series on their stand at the exhibition. This high performance pressure measurement solution uses Druck silicon technology and its analogue circuitry delivers the very best in performance.

They have an online configuration tool which guides users through the process of selecting the ideal sensor for the desired application. Their configuration tool can be found at www.unik5000.com by clicking "start building".

Kavlico Pressure Sensors exclusively presented their next generation of pressure sensors. Specifically developed to address various industrial applications, the P1A features a highly modular design and a wide range of options.

Able to cover pressure ranges from vacuum to 16 bar, the P1A Ceramic Capacitive transmitter builds on the success of the PTE5000 Pressure Sensor Series extending the 6-3000 bar pressure range.

Kistler Instruments announced their latest version of the Kistler XY monitoring system, the maXYmos TL. With an increased capability of up to 8 XY channels and compatible with a wide range of sensors, the maXYmos TL (TL standing for "Top Level") can be used for the same simple force-displacement monitoring as the original version but with its extended functionality allows users to tackle more difficult assembly and product testing applications.

Sensirion promoted their vast range of humidity and temperature sensors at the conference and demonstrated their stance as market leaders through innovation. Their products have become the established market standard since their inception in 1998.

High performance, functionality and miniturized forms are some of the advantages that Sensirion's customers can enjoy thanks to their innovative CMOSens® Technology which encompasses a humidity sensor, a temperature sensor, signal processing and calibration memory; all of which manage to fit onto a single chip.

About Sensors & Instrumentation

Organised by industry professionals, Sensors & Instrumentation is the only dedicated sensors and instrumentation exhibition in the UK. It is the ideal show for visitors interested in sensors and wanting the chance to look at new technologies, exhibitors wanting to showcase their exciting innovative products and even students looking to learn about sensors at the many free seminars and workshops held throughout the day.
