Ruggedly designed transmitting modules, MassaSonic® PulStar® Series Ultrasonic Sensors offer continuous and reliable level or distance measurement of solid bulk materials, pastes, or fluids. PulStar Series Sensors deliver accurate operation at application ranges from 4" (100 mm) to 20' (6 m).
All PulStar® models incorporate the latest ultrasonic technology and processing algorithms, and they also offer exact non-contact distance measurement for applications including object detection, tank level monitoring, process control, or factory automation.
Structure interference causing false echoes is not an issue because of improved processing algorithms. The PulStar® Plus and PulStar® represent the next generation enhancements to Massa’s Legacy M-320 and M-300 series, and are fully backward compatible with existing M-320/ M-300 software and installations.
The new PulStar® Series Sensors have been custom designed for effortless mechanical and electronic interface to an OEM system integrator’s control system. The IP68 rated, RoHS and CE compliant sensors are available in three versions.
PulStar® Series Sensors provide of NPT mounting fittings and come in PVDF or PVC housings for use in different environments. All models are equipped with constant temperature compensation in order to obtain precise measurement accuracy. A few of the other user friendly characteristics include: diagnostic and monitoring outputs, and protection from over voltage, short circuits, and reverse polarity
PulStar® Series Sensors operate from 12 to 24 V DC and offer user programmable linear outputs of 0 to 10 V DC, 4 to 20 mA, or 0 to 20 mA, which correspond to the target’s measured distance. It is also possible to set the output in order to perform as a digital switch within zones defined by particular target setpoint distances. The PulStar TTL model operates on UART TTL at 1.8V.
Compatible with MS Windows operating systems, and when using RS-232/RS-485 or USB/RS-485 converters, up to 32 sensors can be linked in parallel onto the same multi-drop communication network. This network allows users to remotely program their sensors and read target distances for rapid incorporation into control applications.
All PulStar® Sensors provide a software sensor transmit trigger, and can be adjusted for sampling rate, analog output slope, averaging measurement, setpoint hysteresis, and loss-of-echo time-out.
PulStar® Series Sensors stand out over other sensors as they have versatile control options, affordable cost of ownership, user-friendly set up, and field proven reliability.

PulStar® (Standard)
The standard models in the PulStar® Sensor Series are inexpensive, rugged, accurate, and particularly suitable if false echoes are not encountered from sound reflecting structures between the sensor and the surface being measured, and extended detection ranges are not needed.
