The Viatran model 590 is a detachable level transmitter which has the advantage of enabling the sensors to be swapped out fast without the need to take out the cable which has already been installed. Other than the standard polyurethane cable, FEP and PVC cable options are available. These transmitters have a capability of 0-40” through 835’ W.C. with a stainless steel construction for the sensor, and polyurethane housing.
Both the 590 and 591 models are rated to the deepest level of 835 feet. The sensor head and cable may be ordered together or separately, along with any of a wide array of compatible accessories for level sensing, many of them being already in stock.
Features of Model 590
The model 590 transmitter has the following features which make it suited for use in a number of level sensing applications.
- It is detachable
- It has a completely stainless steel body
- It is IP-68 compliant
- It conforms to RoHS standards
- It is ideal for measuring level at low pressures
The major benefit of the detachable 590 is the speed with which the sensor can be changed out, since the cable is left in situ and therefore requires no tools other than those which are used to retrieve the sensor and untwist the sensor coupling sleeve to disengage it, finally separating the two parts.
The model 590 has an all-stainless steel housing as well as sensor body, with cables made of polyurethane as standard, but with other materials being used for the cables and O-rings as available options.
Uses
The Viatran model 590 is well suited to measure fluid levels and liquid depths, for various applications including waste water systems, lift stations, holding ponds, reservoirs, rivers and dams, tanks (above-ground or in-ground), as well as tank gauging for inventory purposes.
It has the capacity to measure pressures from 0-40" W.C. through 15' W.C. with an accuracy of +/- 0.50% FSO, while for ranges over 15 feet W.C. the combined accuracy is +/- 0.35% FSO.
Viatran level transmitters also come with a wide range of optional fittings to suit all types of applications, including surge protectors, meters and cable hangers, junction boxes and cable weights. Both a replacement sensor head and the cables are available for separate purchase.
