First Secure Data and Voice Call Made using Lockheed Martin’s MUOS On-Orbit Satellite

Military satellite radios have rarely offered secure data communications while on the move. That’s because older communication systems needed terminals that were stationary and in the open—not ideal for missions when mobility is key and time is of the essence. The Mobile User Objective System, a Lockheed Martin satellite communications network for the U.S. Navy, is changing that.

NEC CASIO Selects ST’s Near Field Communication Controller for Android-Based Smartphone

STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader supplying customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, today announced that its Near Field Communication (NFC) controller is being used by NEC CASIO Mobile Communications in the exciting G’zOne CA-201L smartphone, based on Android. The phone is initially targeted to the operator LGU+ in Korea.

ST’s Single-Chip Satellite-Tracking ICs Successful in Ground Location Test using Galileo Navigation System
