Impress Unveils New Transmitters for Subsea Pressure and Level Measurement Applications

Instrumentation specialist Impress Sensors & Systems Ltd has launched a new range of subsea pressure and level transmitters. The sensors are suitable for a variety of subsea pressure and level measurement applications, in depths up to 3,000 metres and external pressures up to 300 bar.

EMERGE Program Participants to Demonstrate Wearable Technologies for First Responders

Earlier this year, the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) first announced the EMERGE Accelerator program for Wearable Technology for First Responders to reach entrepreneurs with innovative ideas. After issuing a nationwide call for applicants throughout the entrepreneurial community, the program selected 20 startups and second-stage companies from more than 100 candidates, and has helped innovators to develop and launch their ideas into investable companies.

VTT Develops Wearable Sensor Technology to Improve Sports Performance

In cooperation with Finland's national swimming team and archery association, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland has developed wearable technology for improving sports performance. Wearable sensors can be attached to, say, a swimmer's hand paddles or an archers' equipment. From there, data is wirelessly transferred to the coach's smartphone or tablet.
