Silex Technology America, Inc., a global leader in wired and wireless networking solutions, today released the SX-SDMAN2, a 802.11n Dual-Band SDIO wireless module with 2x2 multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) technology. The SX-SDMAN2 is based on the Qualcomm Atheros AR6234 system in package (SiP) solution, and its 2x2 architecture positions it as a higher-end offering in the Silex SDIO product line.
"The SX-SDMAN2 is designed for Wi-Fi applications that demand robust wireless transmission for mobile applications that have high throughput and range requirements," said Babar Hashim, product manager at Silex Technology America. "Its 2x2 architecture makes it an ideal solution for customers requiring higher performance and reliability."
With the release of the SX-SDMAN2, Silex expands its SDIO portfolio and provides customers with a variety of options. Dual-band capability, antenna diversity and MIMO features set it apart from other Silex SDIO radios. The radio module design approach also saves cost, as the SX-SDMAN2 provides FCC/IC/ETSI/TELEC modular certification. To expedite your product development process, Silex can provide both hardware and software engineering services including custom driver development, certification services and hardware schematic design reviews.
