Sensis to Supply Vehicle Locators and Multilateration Sensors for Surveillance

Sensis Corporation will supply its VeeLo NextGen vehicle locating devices and multilateration sensors to Norwegian Bergen International Airport. The multilateration sensor system employs various non-rotating sensors with minimal maintenance, to check the vehicle and aircraft positions by means of signals from the transponder.

Sensis remarked that this will furnish accurate aircraft location and identification data to the air traffic regulators during diverse weather conditions and thus enhances the surveillance providing security.

The multilateration system facilitates the Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) for improving their surveillance potentiality.

The VeeLo NextGen is a miniature, weight-less vehicle locator in a robust, weather-proof covering and is fixed externally to the airport vehicles. This will permit the air traffic regulators with positional data about the airport vehicles. The VeeLo NextGen will accomplish its position data from a global positioning system receiver, enabled by a Satellite-Based augmentation system.
