Asavie, the provider of next-generation enterprise mobility management and Internet of Things (IoT) connectivity solutions announced today at the Internet of Things World its interoperability with the Firmwave® Edge IoT sensor platform, the first low-power, wireless sensor network platform. With the integration between Asavie and Firmwave, organizations can for the first time, access a secure and scalable data delivery channel from edge IoT sensors and IoT gateways across multiple networks including Zigbee®, Thread, RFID, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa®, SIGFOX™ and Cellular.
Combining the power of Asavie PassBridge™, an IoT Connectivity management platform, with Firmwave® Edge for IoT data collection, organizations can accelerate data collection from multiple sensor types across various environments and quickly scale their industrial IoT projects across a secure network.
Based on Intel® Quark™ microcontrollers – Firmwave® Edge combines local sensor connectivity with the edge processing capabilities that are essential for so-called ‘fog computing’ – the ability for smart decisions to be taken locally at the edge. Connected to the cloud via Asavie PassBridge™, Industrial IoT (IIoT) customers now have an end-to-end infrastructure on which to run their IoT application layer.
Ralph Shaw, CEO at Asavie, said, “Enterprises rolling out IoT projects are challenged by the myriad of sensor and network communication protocols and standards they encounter. Today Asavie and Firmwave are able to address these issues by aggregating the communications from the diverse sensor types and connectivity networks across the Asavie PassBridge™ platform. Enterprises benefit from having a seamless end-to-end connectivity experience, enabling them to capture and securely manage the vast amounts of data transacted between their IoT devices.”
Fintan McGovern, Firmwave CEO said, “We are proud to partner with Asavie, a leading global connectivity platform provider. Our Firmwave® Edge customers can now benefit from our combined strengths, safe in the knowledge that their IoT projects can scale in a protected manner. We allow enterprises to accelerate the time to market of their projects and focus on data, information and valuable business insights rather than worrying about the data collection and security.”
