Raytheon Secures Award for Upgrading AN-AAS-53 Sensor

Texas-based Raytheon Company in McKinney has been granted a $37,329,835 award for designing, manufacturing and evaluating the upgradation of an available variant of the common sensor payload, AN/AAS-53, integrating precise target image identification ability.

This agreement will accomplish the advancement or installation of the high resolution detecting devices into the common sensor payload, AN/AAS-53, thus enhancing the target identification with precise imaging.

Raytheon will be supplying a total of eight high-resolution target identifying systems to the Common Sensor Payload. The upgradation will be carried out in McKinney, Texas and is likely to be completed in December 2012. Contract funds which have been granted will not end by the present financial year
