The FireBoard is a digital thermometer designed to operate through a user's smartphone or through the web, making it easy to remotely track temperature. The solution provides a 6 channel thermometer, including multiple alerts (via SMS and email), data logging capabilities and even Bluetooth® connectivity to augment the wireless connection. The FireBoard also uses extremely accurate temperature probes which are tested for hot and cold environments.
"We've found the use case is extremely versatile," says FireBoard founder Ted Conrad. "It's a great thermometer for barbecue and cooking, but we've also found numerous commercial and professional applications."
So much so, says Conrad, that in the midst of designing and engineering the device, they decided to beef up the circuitry to accommodate the demands of the commercial and professional environment. The FireBoard team is running their device in an extended field test in several Midwest restaurant locations and grocery stores.
But the device also appeals directly to the consumer market, creating a simple, affordable and smart solution for cooking around the kitchen, and for the patio grill or barbecue. "It's easy to step away yet still keep an eye on what you are cooking," noted Conrad.
In launching the crowdfunding campaign, the FireBoard team is appealing directly to the consumers who have asked for these features. "We are extremely excited about launching on Kickstarter because our supporters have been asking for this device for years," says co-founder Steven Briggeman. "With our backer's support, we will be able to move our device into mass production."
With an early-backer price of $129 and delivery December 2016, the FireBoard brings a revolutionary set of features at a very affordable price point. Several versions of kits including a set of six temperature probes are available on the Kickstarter campaign.
