The Ashtead Technology stand (No. O72) at the Advanced Engineering Show 2016 (Birmingham NEC 2-3rd November) will feature the latest inspection technologies; providing visitors with one source for all of their equipment rental needs.
Visitors will be encouraged to try their hand at NDT and visual inspection with help and advice from Ashtead’s experienced staff. For example, the stand will feature the DolphiCam; an ultrasonic array inspection system for the detection of flaws in composites up to 16mm thickness.
Connected to a PC, tablet or laptop via a USB port, the DolphiCam creates a high resolution colour image of defects or damage in just a few seconds; providing a variable angle 3D representation of the inspection area.
Paul Yeo, MD of Composite Test & Evaluation Ltd regularly hires this technology.
We use the DolphiCam for ‘compression after impact’ testing – after a brief familiarisation course we found the instrument easy to operate, helping us to generate very high quality reports.

Highlighting the comprehensive nature of Ashtead Technology’s rental fleet, a wide range of other instruments will also be on show, including videoprobes and borescopes from leading global manufacturers such as Olympus, GE and ViZaar, and infrared (thermal) cameras from FLIR.
