Express Logic, Inc., the worldwide leader in royalty-free, real-time operating systems (RTOS) with more than 5.4 billion deployments, today announced NetX Secure socket layer security for its high-performance NetX Duo™ IPV4/IPV6 TCP/IP network stack. NetX Secure uses Transport Layer Security Protocol (TLS) to achieve socket layer security and supports TLS versions 1.1 and 1.2. Like all of Express Logic’s products, NetX Secure was developed entirely in-house—with no open source content—to ensure the quality and ease of use that customers have come to expect from Express Logic. By leveraging the TLS industry standard, NetX Secure prevents “eavesdropping,” tampering, and pilfering of data across the network.
Safe and Secure Embedded Networking Solution for the IoT
The introduction of NetX Secure strengthens NetX Duo’s arsenal of security capabilities, which already includes Internet Protocol Security (IPsec). IPsec provides secure communication at the network level. The combination of NetX Secure and IPsec provides users more network security options and enables users to develop secure connectivity for a wide variety of IoT and standalone systems that require a small-footprint, standards-based solution.
“The safety and security demands surrounding IoT devices are increasing every day, especially in regards to the handling of sensitive or confidential information,” said William E. Lamie, President, Express Logic, Inc. “This makes secure device-to-device communication particularly important. With its safety certification for TÜV, NetX Duo with NetX Secure and IPsec add-ons gives Express Logic customers essential tools for developing safety- and security-critical IoT devices.”
NetX Duo is designed to work seamlessly with Express Logic’s popular ThreadX® RTOS, and both products are certified to IEC 61508 SIL 4, IEC 62304 Class C, ISO 26262 ASIL D, and EN 50128. Both products also support all major commercial processors, providing a powerful platform for developing safety- and security-critical IoT systems.
Shipping and Availability
Netx Duo is available today at license prices starting at $15,000. IPsec for NetX Duo is available now at prices starting at $12,500. NetX Secure will be available in December 2016.
