First Student Bus Company to Integrate Motion Sensors and GPS Tracking Units in School Buses by 2011

First Student Bus Company has integrated innovative technological devices to the school buses for ensuring the safety of the students.

A company spokesperson mentioned that several buses of the First Student Bus Company are devised with motion sensing devices and GPS tracking units.

According to Mike Bacco, spokesman of the First Student Bus Company, the GPS systems are connected to a computer for identifying the actual location of each bus and it can even detect whether the bus is moving or is parked anywhere. He added that the system is also capable of tracking all the routes of the bus, indicates the time when the bus reaches each stop accurately and determines the speed at which the bus is moving.

Bacco stated that the motion sensing units installed in the First Student Buses confirm that no student is left behind in the bus and incase if the driver fails to notice any student, the motion sensor will sense the motion of the child and will produce a warning alarm.

Bacco revealed that said all the 60,000 First Student Company’s buses will be integrated with the latest technology by 2011.
