Arbitron divulged its multi-year contract with Adelante Media Group LLC for its Diary radio rating services and Portable People Meter (PPM).
According to Jay Meyers, CEO, Adelante Media Group, Arbitron was considered to be the benchmark for audience management, and this contract would help them to expand their Hispanic radio market, being a new entrant into the broadcasting field, with both Diary and PPM data benefiting their advertisers.
Arbitron Inc’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Carol Hanley, declared that the company was elated to become a partner with Adelante Media. She further stated that ARB’s rating services would be of great benefit to their advertisers.
The PPM determines how exposed the customers are to entertainment and media, such as cable, broadcasts, terrestrial, online radio, satellite television, satellite and cinema advertisements, along with varied types of digital media. Random choice of participants in the survey, happening all through the day, and also an inert capture or gathering of data related to media, radio, internet etc. takes place, and gets transmitted to Arbitron. The PPM identifies muted codes reflected in the audio segment of media content, and as it is outfitted with a motion sensor, it confirms the participants’ agreement of the PPM survey daily.
The ARB diary services, operating lucratively for more than 40 years, quantifies radio, trustworthily tracking listeners to the 13000 plus radio stations in the U.S., Mexico and Canada. Enormous advancements and progress have been made in the ARB diary methods, which also cover modifications made in sampling households using cell phones.
