Naval Surface Warfare Center Grants Contract to FLIR Systems

Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division has granted a $13.5 million contract to FLIR Systems, Inc. for providing BRITE Star II multi-sensor target designation systems.

The contract was followed by a formerly announced five-year requirements order for $125.3 million. The products delivered through this contract are likely to be utilized by the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps for different purposes.

FLIR intends to carry out the work on this contract at its plants located in Wilsonville, OR, with deliveries expected to commence and end in 2011.  

The CEO and President at FLIR Systems Earl R. Lewis stated that the company is delighted about the contract from Marine Corps and Navy, which further signifies their commitment to supply advanced, EO/IR laser designation systems.
