Trimble and Photovac Align to Advance Environmental Sensors

Trimble and Photovac proclaimed that they have jointly developed an advancement and distribution contract for amalgamating Photovac technology into Trimble’s portable computing devices for commercializing in environmental services markets.

Both the companies will collaboratively advance integral mobile devices particularly fabricated for use in the portable landfill gas discharge detecting units. Based on the contract, Trimble is authorized to deploy the latest Flame Ionization Detection (FID) technology of Photovac, to incorporate and develop the products for industrial applications.

The mobile flame ionization sensor from Photovac monitors and evaluates the methane discharges from landfills. The coupling of FID technology of Photovac with the revolutionary portable measurement systems of Trimble will give rise to innovative devices for facilitating environmental services and portable landfill methane detecting purposes to furnish workflow enhancement, greenhouse gas compliance documentation and reporting.

According to Elmar Lenz, Environmental Solutions Business Area director at Trimble, their positioning and gas sensing technology in association with Photovac technology will enable the company to advance and deliver standard in-built devices for the environmental services professional.

Tom Smith, president of Photovac, stated that their alliance with Trimble will result in development of an efficient device to enhance the functional time in detecting the defective areas with solid GPS integrations and will help in satisfying the air sensing criteria.
