Innovative Sensor Technology Launches Tiny Capacitive Humidity Sensor

Innovative Sensor Technology, a producer of thin-film sensing equipment, such as thermal mass flow sensors, capacitive relative humidity sensors and RTD temperature sensors, has expanded its thin-film sensor portfolio by unveiling a capacitive humidity sensor named P14 202, which is marked as the smallest capacitive humidity sensor in the world.

Innovative Sensor Technology, a producer of thin-film sensing equipment such as thermal mass flow sensors, capacitive relative humidity sensors and RTD temperature sensors, has expanded its thin-film sensor portfolio by unveiling a capacitive humidity sensor named P14 202, which is marked as the smallest capacitive humidity sensor in the world.

The P14 202 has a surface area of 1.85 mm2 and its assembly is completely automated. The sensor¡¦s connection points are designed for bonding and soldering. It can measure relative humidity between 0% and 100% over a temperature range between -50°C to +150°C.

Innovative Sensor has used advanced production technologies and ultra quality substances for the production of its humidity sensors with superior hysteresis and linearity qualities. The sensor provides a linearity error below ±1.5% RH, which means after one point calibration, the error varies between 15 and 90% RH at 23°C. The sensor offers a hysteresis below ±1.5% in a three-hour cycle between 20% and 80% RH.

The ultra small surface area and volume of P14 202 allow it to be used in those applications where space is a constraint. Some of the applications are white goods, appliances, cell phones and similar mobile devices.
