OmniVision Commences Production of Image Sensor OV6930

OmniVision Technologies, a high-quality digital imaging solutions provider, has declared that the company has started the bulk production of its high-efficient, handy image sensor OV6930.

The sensor is packed in a tiny matrix of area 1.8mm2, which makes it more suitable for a variety of medical endoscopy applications such as OB/GYN and urology, gastroscopy, colonoscopy and bronchoscopy.

The OV6930 can assist in the production of medical equipments, which need an outside diameter below 2.6 mm. The company also proclaimed that the Hong Kong-based COMedia,  has selected the sensor for its two new medical equipment modules based on its design.

OmniVision has incorporated its ultra-quality pixel technology named OmniPixel3-HS in the architecture of OV6930. This technology provides superior performance of 3300 mV/lux-sec even under dim light. The sensor uses less power for its operation. The 1/10-inch array can provide a raw serial yield of up to 60 fps in 400 x 200 resolution or 30 fps in 400 x 400 HVGA. The cabling can be extended up to 14 ft for the low-voltage sensor.
