PrimeSense will offer its innovative 3D sensing technology for utilizing in the Project Natal for the Microsoft’s Xbox 360, a video game based entertainment system.
PrimeSense is an industry leader in the 3D sensing and recognition domain.
The Project Natal will be made available in holiday 2010, according to an announcement made by Microsoft during the Las Vegas-based Consumer Electronics Show.
Ilan Spillinger, Xbox 360 hardware’s vice president, revealed that PrimeSense has offered a vital component for the Xbox technology and has enabled Microsoft to provide an innovative controller-free gaming and entertainment experience in the drawing room.
PrimeSense’s chief executive officer Inon Beracha informed that the technology from PrimeSense has facilitated a conceptual shift in the manner in which persons interact with electronic gadgets.
Aviad Maizels, PrimeSense’s founder and president, explained that the Project Natal sensor was developed by the hardware engineering teams of Microsoft’s Xbox division based on the PrimeSensor reference design for supporting the unique needs of ‘Project Natal’.
