MAZeT Introduces MMCS6 Portfolio of Multiple Color Sensors

MAZeT has introduced a multiple color sensor portfolio named MMCS6, which fills the void between the three-element color sensors and  spectral computing equipment for sensor solutions.

MAZeT's Multiple Color Sensor

The MMCS6 features interference filters, which are integrated with the handy and price-to-performance ratio-optimized semiconductor sensors. Based on the spectral estimation, the sensor can measure color in the range of 380 to 780 nm with seven spectral features. The sensor uses radiometric level to measure a color and not the traditional colorimetric level, which yields the chromaticity coordinate as its first result. This sensor yields the spectrum of a color as its first result, which is then used to compute the chromaticity coordinate.

The MMCS6 is a semiconductor-based sensor with RGB and three-axis interference filters for quick and enduring steady color detection and superior color measurement according to the standard of CIE/DIN5033. The precision of color measurement is relied on the calibration of the sensor and the type of light source. This spectral sensor is best suitable for applications with greater accuracy of color measurement or with non-standard sources of light such as laboratory measuring equipment.

The MMCS6 sensor eliminates the detection and measurement of metamerism effects, which are not possible for the three-axis and RGB sensors. The spectral features of the sensor are organized in such a way as to provide minimum void as possible in the visible spectrum, which in turn reduces the misleading elucidation of the colors and improves the precision in color measurement.
