Dave Astolfo Develops Vacuuming Robot with LEGO Sensors and Mindstorms

Dave Astolfo of PlastiBots has developed a small vacuuming robot called the Pulito that uses LEGO sensors and a swiffer cloth to move and clean hardwood floors. Astolfo constructed the Pulito using LEGO Mindstorms.

The new robot avoids hazards and focuses the home base through an infrared beacon when it requires a recharge. In addition, the tiny robot utilizes a multiplexing system to add more number of sensors to the LEGO NXT, without the addition of extra ports.
