IDS Introduces High-Resolution Cameras with CCD Sensors

IDS, a leading camera manufacturer, has launched two novel intense-resolution camera series featuring GigE and USB interfaces at the VISION 2010 exhibition.

The UI-6280 and the UI-2280 cameras are equipped with 2/3” ICX-655 Sony Sensor with 5 MP resolution. The sensor has a global shutter mode and provides blur-free imaging even for rapid-moving objects. The GigE series has a frame rate of about 10 frames per second, while the USB series offers 6.5 frames per second.

The imagers are offered in numerous housing options in colored or monochrome models. Various other options are also available for the filter glass fitted in the front of sensor. The 5 MP resolution, integrating rapid frame rate and global shutter technology, make the cameras ideal for complex image processing applications.

All cameras attain the same speed in trigger mode, as with the free-run mode. Enhanced frame rates are also possible when a binning (horizontal and vertical) or an AOI (Area of Interest) is utilized. The GigE interface cameras are capable of transferring complete color depth of 12 bits capacity.

The CCD sensor with 3.45 µm pixel resolution offers intense light sensitivity and the increased pixel pitch facilitate the choice of choosing appropriate lenses. Other megapixel lenses can also be utilized on the UI-2280-C. The compact size of the cameras makes them ideal for microscopic purposes. The cameras can be substituted with the ICX-285Sony Sensor, which provides one-fourth of the resolution within the same size.
