Baumer Group Strengthens Base in India with New Acquisition

Switzerland-based Baumer Group, maker of sensors and sensors systems, announced that it has purchased a majority stake in Waaree Instruments, a supplier of process control instruments based in India. Waaree Instruments is a unit of Waaree Group India.

The acquisition will enable Baumer, which started its business in India in 2007, to become a leader in the Indian market. The company initially focused on factory automation industry, offering its motion control, sensor solutions, and gluing system activities. The market activities of Waaree will be integrated with that of Baumer in the coming few months. The merger also benefits customers, offering them more options of electronic and mechanical process instruments to choose from.

The acquisition is part of the international expansion strategy of Baumer. Waaree Instruments has a wide distribution network and advanced manufacturing units in India. This will enhance the capability of Baumer to speed up delivery and satisfy customer needs.
