CMOSIS Presents CMV300 CMOS Image Sensor at Vision 2010

CMOSIS has showcased a new off-the-shelf CMOS sensor at Vision 2010. The CMV300 0.3-megapixel image sensor features 1/3” VGA format. The image sensor offers low noise, high frame rate, high sensitivity, and global shutter. The sensor has been especially designed for cost-effective and basic industrial applications.

The company will launch the prototype of the CMV300 image sensor in mid 2011. The sensor will use the same 8-transistor pixel structure as used by the CMV2000/CMV12000/CMV4000 series sensors. It realizes more than 66 dB dynamic range, and it can be extended through many high dynamic range operational modes.

The pixel architecture of the CMOS sensor provides correlated double sampling while in the global shutter mode, and low parasitic light sensitivity. These features enable the sensor to reduce the dark current noise and fixed pattern noise of its matrix. The sensor delivers 600 full VGA frames per second speed, as it has a 12-bit ADC.

The readout and image control of the sensor can be programmed through SPI interface. The internal runtime generator of the sensor provides signals for exposure control and data readout, while the external trigger has the ability to override triggering that is internally generated.

The CMV300 image sensor is available in the monochrome version, as well as in the color version. Both the versions are suitable for tough industrial environments.
