Roctest Launches Water Sensors for Construction and Civil Engineering Applications

St. Lambert-based Roctest, pioneer in the design and fabrication of highly advanced sensing system for industrial and hydro installation applications, has declared the release of a novel system for checking the level of water in embankments, tunnels, dam reservoirs, excavations, and in numerous other civil engineering works.

Roctest was acquired by Nova Metrix, based in Massachusetts with an investment of $22.3-million. According to Roctest, the tiny fibre-optic piezometer features a 4.8mm diameter and 54mm length and can be utilized in areas where other devices are not reachable. The device can be embedded in geotextiles and also for construction and civil engineering applications. It is enclosed in a stainless steel sheathing and shows excellent operation even in undesirable environments.
