Cobham to Supply Radio and Microwave Systems for Defense Applications

Cobham will be supplying crucial microwave and radio frequency packages for use in fire control radar systems and Aegis surveillance solutions.

Cobham will deliver 3700 assemblies of such systems for each of the Aegis system to a major contractor, Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors. These sensing systems will be integrated in various divisions of the US Navy vessels and shore-oriented areas.

The Aegis is a manually operated, economical, ballistic missile defense radar system that is usually deployed in tiny platform vessels such as frigates. The $40m contract is granted as part of the US Navy project, to construct eight Arleigh Burke assisted missile destroyers between 2011 and 2016.
