FPC1080A Series of Miniature Fingerprint Sensors

Fingerprint Cards has released a miniscule and power-effective fingerprint sensing devices for use in mobile phones. The FPC1080A series of miniature sensing units consumes very low power and provides high-quality images with 508 dpi resolution range.

This standard device can be installed easily in high-volume systems such as laptops, smart cards, mobile phones, and USB keys.

The FPC1080A features finger navigation functionality by virtue of its in-built hardware and allows the use of the sensor as a navigation system, eliminating the need of joysticks and other navigation units.

According to Johan Carlström, CEO of Fingerprint Cards, they are highly pleased with the launch of their ultra-small, power-effective fingerprint sensor, which can be used in laptops and tablet systems, and in smart cards and other battery-powered devices, where power consumption is a major factor.
