Tank Gauging System from Emerson Process Management

Emerson Process Management has launched a new tank gauging system, Raptor. The gauging system offers easy installation of devices, as well as easy replacement or upgradation of devices in the future. As this system helps protect the investment of the users, tank farms and refineries can be operated efficiently.

The Raptor tank gauging system includes an entire range of instrumentation such as temperature and pressure transmitters, non-contact radar level gauges, inventory management software, and water interface sensors. Through standard communication protocols, tank hubs are utilized to communicate with control room and measuring instruments. The completely scalable design of the gauging system is based on open technology, hence it can be used for any performance and application.

The tank gauging system also features new safety technologies to save the environment, personnel and assets. The 2-in-1 functionality of the system, featuring two separate radar gauges enclosed in one unit, offers SIL 3 safety to prevent overfill. The system features 2-wire, bus-powered Tankbus communication, which is Foundation fieldbus technology-based. This enables easy integration and start-up of all the units in the system.
