Elbit Systems, leading global defense electronics company, proclaimed that their company has been offered a contract worth $16 million from the Polish Ministry of National Defense for providing portable multi-sensor detection and surveillance systems for use in Polish Army missions. This project is likely to be accomplished in 2011.
Based on the agreement, a team consisting of Elbit Systems Land and C4I-Tadiran and the Polish Military Communication Institute, will be delivering varied sensing devices for use in onboard a ROSOMAK 8X8 vehicle. The systems integrated onboard the vehicle features a TV, temperature vision systems, different visual payloads, encrypted transmission systems, motion sensing battlefield surveillance radar system, and an unmanned aircraft system (UAS). The project will be carried out in collaboration with the local Polish industries.
According to Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, Elbit Systems Land and C4I–Tadiran’s General Manager, they are highly pleased to offer technologically improved solutions for Polish Army applications, in association with the Military Communication Institute. He added that their novel continuous surveillance systems will provide progressive Smart solutions, and anticipates that the company’s innovative project will be succeeded by many other projects in Poland and in other countries.
