Medium Extended Air Defense System for Flight Tests

The primary Medium Extended Air Defense System, called the Battle Manager, is set for system integration in Italy for the flight test series in 2012. According to the project officials, another five Battle Managers are also being assembled to aid the installation, evaluation and qualification undertakings for conducting the flight tests.

This MEADS multinational project is headquartered in Orlando and has different International participating firms including Italy-based MBDA, Germany-based LFK Company and the United States-oriented Lockheed Martin. By employing standardized connections and a ground-breaking network-oriented open configuration, the MEADS Battle Manager commands and regulates the MEADS as well as non-MEADS sensing devices and launchers.
