Fujitsu has launched an innovative mobile phone with improved features called the F-01C with a certification from the Continua Health Alliance.
This water-repelling, touch-screen phone has a 13.2 megapixel camera, HD video camera, “augmented reality-empowered location radar”, integrated humidity and temperature sensor, etc. The Continua certification is mentioned on the phone’s product page.
Continua is a connected health industry firm having 236 member companies that are collaborating to provide guidelines related to interoperable health devices. The F-02C product page describes that the phone can be interlinked to medical systems fabricated by TANITA.These mobile phone users can deploy the i-appli mobile application for regulating their blood pressure and other bodily parameters, stated the phonemaker. Both the versions of the phones are accessible only by the subscribers of the Japan-based mobile operator NTT DoCoMo. The F-01C phone features a walking and running application containing tips from Naoko Takahashi,former marathon runner and Olympic gold medalist.
The medical information is communicated from the device to the phone using Bluetooth functionality, and can then be transmitted to doctors and recorded into an electronic health record, according to the company.
The primary Continua Certified mobile phone, developed employing Continua’s design guidelines, will be released at CEATEC. This innovative mobile phone helps maintaining and relaying the health related data gathered by healthcare devices that are authorized by Continua. According to Rick Cnossen, president and chair of Continua Health Alliance, by permitting the users to maintain and regulate their health aids lowering healthcare expenses, provides enhanced independence to the seniors, and can also be helpful in regulating and avoiding prolonged ailments.
