Teledyne RD Instruments (RDI) has launched the Phased Array Velocity Sensor (PAVS) having 150 kHz capacity for extended-range navigation applications.
The PAVS150 is the initial 1,000 m depth-graded condensed Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) introduced in the industry to supply accurate velocity data at the rate of 500 m of altitude higher than the seafloor.
The bottom-tracking proficiency of the PAVS150 satisfies all the customer requirements and is ideal for use in on-board navigation systems at any stage for performing the change over from the open oceans’ deep waters to the shallow working surroundings of the littoral zone.
The PAVS150 can be used inUnmanned Underwater Vehicle and can be packaged even into the vehicles smaller than 12.75 inches or 32.39cm in diameter. The systems’ electronics supply wide connectivity with other sensing devices, lowering the whole power consumption. Besides its applications in UUV, the compact architecture of the PAVS150 is superior over other conventional navigation systems and satisfies the payload limitations in onboard manned as well as unmanned submersibles.
The PAVS150 is obtained in an inline and a right angle design, for executing a wide variety of applications, and can also be altered in accordance with specific packaging necessities.
