Hoffman informed that his firm uses advanced IR equipment to generate photographic quality reports that illustrate how low-sloped and flat roofs are contaminated with moisture in the subsurface of the roof.
Most of the flat roofs need to be replaced before the end of their lifecycle as the roof substrate becomes wet due to moisture ingress. It is possible to detect and record moisture problems before a roof failure occurs by conducting a qualitative IR-based roof moisture survey. This will help the roofing professional in taking informed decisions so that actions are initiated to rectify the problems without having to replace the whole roof.
