Victor and Sony have announced that new HD digital video cameras will be launched into the market shortly. The cameras can capture three-dimensional moving pictures and are specifically designed to increase the sales of three-dimensional TVs.
Sony will release its HDR-TD10 digital video camera in April 2011, while Victor will launch the GS-TD1 3-D video camera in February 2011.
The HDR-TD10 video camera features two image-processing sensors and lenses that will enable users to capture HD 3D moving pictures. A monitor in the camera displays three-dimensional pictures, which can be screened on a three-dimensional TV and watched with three-dimensional eyeglasses. The GS-TD1 3-D video camera is equipped with two microphones and offers three-dimensional imagery as well as three-dimensional sounds through spatialized recording.
Other major appliance companies are expected to manufacture three-dimensional 3D video cameras to increase the three-dimensional sales market. A major drawback in three-dimensional TVs is that they feature less number of programs and movies. However three-dimensional videos that can be watched in the comfort of the homes may appeal to consumers and in turn will increase the three-dimensional TV market.
A number of new and Innovative three-dimensional -capable products have already been launched into the market. Fujitsu has released a three-dimensional 3D desktop computer and Nintendo will shortly launch a three-dimensional portable game console in February 2011.
