Honeywell, Nivis, GE, Yamatake, Fuji Electric, Yokogawa, and R3 Sensors are using ISA100.11a wireless system successfully. This declaration has been made at the Los Angeles-based National Technical Systems laboratories, conducted by ISA100 Wireless Compliance Institute (WCI) with its 'Wireless Plugfest'.
The Technical Steering Committee of WCI scheduled the test set-ups to check the interoperability in four operational categories such as networking, provisioning, application design and data publishing.
Andre Ristaino, managing director of WCI commented that they were highly pleased with the outcome of the December 2010 WCI Wireless Plugfest and plan to improve the Plugfest program progressively. He commented that their goal is to enhance the consumer experience with ISA100-related products and boost guaranteed interoperability.
The test involves registered systems produced by suppliers containing Honeywell High Level Analog Input (HLAI) system, temperature and pressure devices, and Yokogowa thermal transmitters and pressure transmitter. By employing an organized plan for evaluating various combinations of network designs, several systems from participating suppliers were linked to gateways from Yokogawa, Honeywell, and Nivis, and then organized to publish data using those gateways.
Osman Sakr, CTO of National Technical Systems, comments that this helps in evaluating the technical efficiency, user-friendliness and actual interoperability, which the ISA100.11a delivers to the users. He continued that by gaining authorization, they will improve their product testing for enhancing scalability, security and functional operations of the ISA100.11a standard.
