Image Sensor for Packaging Applications

Banner Engineering has launched an image sensor that provides increased recognition, communication and abilities for quick interchange. The iVu Plus TG sensor can save up to 30 inspections and monitors labels, components and packaging according to type, size, shape and location.

The device offers on-board memory and its software makes setup easy. It also enables changeover without needing to use a PC. It has a color touch-screen display that along with the on-board memory ensures rapid and easy installation. Ethernet communication allows compatibility with various systems used in the industrial sector. It incorporates a Sort sensor to identify up to 10 various patterns inside the same inspection. Applications include identifying components on a production line. It can also check for the presence of all necessary components inside a package.

It has an area sensor that ensures that components have certain features. The blemish sensor identifies errors like scratches or color variation. It also has a match sensor that confirms a pattern, shape or component matches the information given on the reference sheet. The device also features integrated lighting, focus lenses that can be adjusted, automatic exposure control and high speed processing. Its package complies with IP67. It can be deployed in rugged environments. A complete range of external lighting solutions can also be ordered to suit specific applications.


The device can be used in applications such as packaging, material handling. Robotics, assembly lines, food processing, pharmaceuticals, plastics etc.
