Point Grey, supplier of high resolution cameras, has unveiled a series of digital cameras called the Gazelle Camera Link. They have 2.2 and 4.1Mp monochrome models based on the CMOSIS CMV2000 and CMV4000 global shutter CMOS sensors.
The 2.2Mp model gives 2048x1088 resolution images at 280 FPS, while the 4.1Mp model produces 2048x2048 images at 150 FPS with a Camera Link interface in Base (2-tap) and Full (8-tap) configurations. Both are compact and measure 44x29x58mm in size. Features include an opto-isolated GPIO ideal for industrial triggering and strobe output, pixel binning and region of interest modes, and user configuration for specific default settings.
It has a C-mount lens holder, detachable optical window, two SDR connectors with screw locks, on-board temperature and power sensors, and status LED. It also has an ASA/ISO-compliant tripod bracket. Other features include 8- and 10bit image modes, row windowing supporting up to 8 separate ROIs, ability to install new firmware versions in the field, reverse imaging, and integrated image information. A command set with external frame grabber software ensures controlled operation.
