Microsoft has declared selling 8 million units of its Kinect sensor, the Xbox gaming accessory. The product lets people computer games without using a remote. This sales figure, according to company sources, far exceeds their original estimates.
According to Peter Klein, the Microsoft chief financial officer, this development has taken place within two months of the launch of the sensor in the market. The product formed part of their range of gaming solutions for the holiday season. The company also declared that its share value of $0.77 and $19.95 billion earnings have shown a sharp rise following their success in the entertainment and gaming segment of almost 55%. Company officials say this phenomenal growth has been possible because of the Kinect sensor.
