Zilog Expands ZMOTION Detection and Control Portfolio

IXYS' susbsidiary, Zilog has launched its New Solution Kits for the ZMOTION Detection and Control portfolio called the NCL-3B and the NCL-10IL. The new kits are using the Zilog high-performance MCUs with incorporated motion sensing algorithms in combination with a range of pyroelectric sensors and lenses for a number of applications.

Both NCL-3B and the NCL-10IL are compact form factor circular lenses that integrate directly on to the pyroelectric sensor and thus eradicating the requirement for any mechanical lens holders. Both are best suitable for proximity and entry sensing solutions.

The NCL-10IL offers a wider rage of coverage of up to 70°, while the NCL-3B offers a narrow coverage of up to 40°. The lenses are having the same size, enabling them to be exchanged based on the specific needs of the applications.

Maximized set up parameters for the ZMOTION MCU are offered for each sensor/lens combination facilitating the optimal performance, while considerably decreasing the production expenditures and risks and reducing production cycle time for clients who produce motion-activated products.

Zilog's ZMOTION MCU is available as stand alone or a bundle with various combinations of 10 varieties  of lenses and PIR sensor that is purposefully adjusted for a wide range of applications including person detection, occupancy, energy management and illumination control.
