Belden, company providing signal transmission solutions, has launched a series of 8-pole M8 actuator/sensor connectors that can tolerate shock and vibrations. They are available either as molded cables or as receptacles.
They operate in temperatures ranging from -25 to +80°C and comply with IP 67 when linked to their mating components and offer contact density up to eight signals of transmission using external power. The solutions can connect optoelectronic sensors or safety switches on systems that monitor safety doors.
The single-ended molded sensors or actuators for switch cabinets have an open cable end. This feature offers flexible wiring options. The male connector RSM 8-354/0.3 M is available with a snap-in/threaded joint while the female connector RKMV 8-354/2 M is provided with a self-locking threaded joint. Both have been fabricated with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). The cord sets designed from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyurethane that has no halogen content (PUR), feature a cross-section of 0.25mm2. They come in 2, 5 or 10m lengths.
The receptacle connector RSMF 8/0.5 M contains stranded wires, solder contacts, besides a potted enclosure. It can be used in switch cabinets or similar machinery. The RSMEDG 8 can be easily installed in sensors with a snap-in or threaded joint. A plug insert (RSEM 8) can also be used for sensor encasings featuring an M8 thread and/or snap-in joint. The receptacle enclosures have been fabricated either from nickel-plated brass (RSMF 8/0.5 M and RSMEDG 8) or from polyamide (RSEM 8).
