A new sensor designed by Apple will transmit details to technicians at Apple on possible instances of abuse of its products by consumers.
The device contains sensors that can detect shock, thermal and liquid, besides ‘tampering’ through a continuity sensor.
There will be two sensors inside the smart phone, which will be connected by a circuit if liquid enters the device or the battery case. The sensor will also immediately store the date of the occurrence. In case of sever damage, the device will be turned off, and when turned on again will warn the user that it needs to be serviced.
There will also be two thermal sensors to warn of extremely cold weather, and an accelerometer that will store data about shock through falling. The data will be displayed even when the device is turned off. The information thus saved will also be tamper-proof. Continuity sensors will inform the company if a user has tried to open or tamper with the battery case. These sensors will ensure that the company is protected against possible cheating and deceit by consumers.
