Cost-Effective Room Thermostats for Energy Efficient Applications

The Building Technologies Division at Siemens has unveiled the RDG, RDF and RDU series of communicating room thermostats displaying energy efficient flexibility. The products can be incorporated into the HVAC Synco control system.

The connection options help their deployment in multi applications, ensuring that both installation and operation is user- friendly. They comply with the KNX standard protocol for linking with the HVAC Synco 700 control system. Their configuration also does not need any external equipment.

The products offer separate room temperature control having set points prefixed from a central monitor, four operating modes (Automatic, Comfort, Economy, and Protection), and predetermined limits for heating and cooling. They also feature automatic speed control of the fan, and central air handling that relies on the channel being used. Also, the presence or absence feature can be chosen if needed. All these are monitored by  KNX. External sensors for all these functions are also possible.

The big-sized display and intuitive use make them easy to handle. There are two RDG and two RDF models including one RDU model for various applications. The RDG devices can be fixed to the wall whereas the RDF and RDU devices are meant for semi flush mounting on conduit boxes that are set in recesses, and all models comply with BS 4662. They belong to the environmental portfolio.
