Vuzix is set to deliver to the Battlefield Air Operations Kit Program of the U.S. Air Force, a shipment of its next generation Tac-Eye LT wearable display solution worth over $1 million within three months.
The Tac-Eye LT, meant for viewing video or computer data from various video sensors, took five years to develop with funding from military commands such as the Air Force Special Operations Command, the Air Force Research Laboratory and the U.S. Special Operations Command.
A light, tough head mounted display meant for military applications, the Tac-Eye LT can stream video from unmanned aircraft and robots, tactical cameras, radio devices and unguarded sensor systems. Designed and assessed to the specification of IP67 and 810G environmental standards, it can be mounted on any ballistic head gear of standard issue or eyewear and connects to any computer or laptop.
Describing the advantages of the Tac-Eye LT display solution, the President and CEO of Vuzix, Paul Travers stated that it decreases the combat load carried and increases both situational awareness and the safety of the Airmen while on the battlefield.
